Hey look, it's Kaylee! HI KAYLEE! You did excellent work in this episode considering that your character description is basically "cries and is scared." Also I love you and I miss Space Cases even though no one else has ever heard of it.
I quite like this episode. Tracey Ellis does a great job with Lucy, a character so beaten down by her life that she can't feel anything for the young girl who is now in her shoes, even though she is literally feeling EVERYTHING that happens to the young girl who is now in her shoes.
Mulder makes up for her apathy by doubling down on his usual intensity, while Scully doubles down on her usual skepticism. His characterization seems more or less on point this episode (he tends to get crazy when young girls go missing) though it felt like Scully was being unusually obstinate, even for her.
It was also refreshing to have the villain be just a normal guy, and have his victims be the ones with the supernatural element, who use it to defeat him.
