Okay, so /r/Supernatural is a lot better than it had been under Nick, and Kishara did a great job in helping fix that issue.
But here's the thing.
I would post more to SPN if I could somehow go back and flare the post after I submit it. I generally post things to /r/fandomnatural first by going back, changing the sub, and then hitting enter. It used to take all of two seconds to do, and was super easy.
But now I can't flare fater posting on SPN, so I then have to go and delete the SPN post, go into SPN sub, hit the delete button, manually repost everything, flare it however it fits (no, I'm not going to memorize the flares), then go back, delete the original link, then start the process all over again starting with posting to SPN.
I get that most people don't double post or that I'm making it overly complicated. It's just that these flares are 99% making me want to post less content, and there's a good reason to believe that others feel discouraged as well. We all want to post, but if it's so arbitrarily flared without the option of even fixing it, people are going to just not.
This is growing tedious, and the sub is specifically making it harder for people to post or even want to post. Nevermind the issue of flaring "everything" or the timeline for spoilers in general. We or at least I have to double post to conform to this change OR one of the mods has to waste time to do it for us. There has to be a much easier and better way than arbitrarily tagging everything at the time of post. Even a box flare that we can tag after posting would be infinitely easier for us and for the mods who have waste time to fix it.
Could we either make it easier to flare for everyone, or make flaring optional for anything not spoilers, art, or media. No spoilers doesn't tell us anything more than flaring spoilers does. We can at least all figure out that out on our own.
I've been on reddit for 2+ years now. This is the most arbitrary and overly complicated style of posting I've dealt with, and that includes Askhistorians and other way more serious subs out there.
But it would just be helpful if we had a bit more control over this situation than constantly having to go back and delete or wait for a mod to do it for us.
