This show has been with me for as long as I can remember. It is because of this, and my unequivocal passion for this show, that I write.
With all the excitement (for something all of the fanatics have known would happen) for the shows revival, I feel it is important that something be said, if for any other reason just so it's documented; be cautious with the hype.
I have seen many shows begin, die, get reborn, and die again. What I have found in my, personal experience, is that a revived show seldom lives up to the hype around it. Now Fox is of course going to promote this because it's money to them. After all, they need money just like the rest of us do. However, when we all jump on the hype train we should keep our expectations in check. I want this show to succeed, I want there to be more seasons. I want it to have the same feel, and everything else echoed on this Sub.
I've also seen shows that come back and go down in flames because it never lived up to the hype. I don't want this to happen to this show. Whether it lives or dies afterward I want it to be on its terms. Not some impossible goal that we set for it that it can't possibly achieve.
TL ; DR people disagree on all sorts of things. Let's find a few, rational things we can agree on for this show to be and hope to see. Scully would want it that way :-)
