Chronological edit [spoilers! spoilers for everything!]

The Internet Gods caused me to stumble on a delightful Back to the Future fan edit that reworked all three time travel movies in chronological order. It's a 5 1/2 hour monster and I'm barely an hour into it--just about done with 1885--but I find myself wondering what a project like that would look like with the Stargate franchise.

I don't imagine anybody would actually do it--17 seasons of TV plus a movie and two or three direct-to-DVD releases is just too much--but it might make for a neat, off-beat rewatch.

[Since this is a hypothetical video edit, I'm limiting the list to time travel and flashbacks, things we've seen on screen.]

Taking a crack at what might go where...

  1. The Ancients leave the Ori galaxy in Ark of Truth
  2. The Ancients take Atlantis from Earth to Pegasus in the SGA pilot
  3. The Wraith battle the Ancients. Weir travels back in time to meet the Ancients and rotate their ZPMs
  4. SG-1 steals a ZPM from Ra
  5. The stranded crew of Destiny survive on Novus
  6. Kronos kills Tealc's father
  7. Ba'al gates to a cargo ship to keep humans from using Earth's stargate
  8. Bra'tac trains Teal'c
  9. SG-1 travel to 1969
  10. Teal'c rises in the ranks of Apophis
  11. Jack, Daniel, and Kowalski travel to Abydos
  12. Jolinar escapes Sokar
  13. SG-1: card-playing idle airmen, Sha're kidnapped, Teal'c defection, etc., etc.
  14. SGA: rising from the depths, waking with Wraith, fearing alien citrus; Concurrently: SG-1, joined by Cam and Vala, battle the Ori
  15. Ark of Truth and Continuum
  16. SGU: lost in space, Destiny's mission
  17. John Sheppard finds himself in a deserted Atlantis on a bone-dry world circling a red giant

How'd I do?
