Season 7: "Closure.'' Incredibly moving. [SPOILERS]

The X-Files is great but, at a certain point, it became clear that its real strength is its standalone fare. The mythology stuff was often compelling but, outside of a few exceptions, I don't recall many mythology episodes that impressed me as much as some of the best standalone episodes (I haven't seen S8 or 9, though).

''Closure,'' however, is one of those exceptions. The bit set against Moby's ''My Weakness'' was so tremendously moving. One of the show's most sublime moments, to be sure, and also one of my favourites from the history of both television and cinema.
