Upgrades to Serenity between series and film.

I've noticed some differences in Serenity( ship)between Firefly and Serenity(film).

First of, the cargo bay is rounded rather than a box. Secondly, the ship has fire extinguishers rather than venting all the air like they did in Objects in Space. Also a few minor differences on the interior but nothing major.

Is their any lore reasons behind this? Did they finally get paid from the Lassiter?

Also, I've only just binged the series and the movie in the last week and I love it. Damn you Reavers and your Sharpened Logs.
