I finished all 4 seasons of Enterprise. Some thoughts.

This is from the perspective of someone who is a somewhat newish fan (though Im kind of old). I don't have a lot of the background knowledge that I'm sure most of you have...

Overall, I quite enjoyed the show. There were a few episodes that I thought were just dumb an unnecessary, such as the two alternate universe episodes where Hoshi was a slut and everyone wanted to murder/torture everyone else. I thought it added nothing to the show nor my viewing experience.

I was hoping there was going to be more about the forming of the Federation of Planets and the founding of the idea of the Prime Directive.

I was hoping for at least one episode where they made some awesome discovery WITHOUT something bad happening. Something that would have been beneficial to Star Fleet in the future, be in an alloy, some sort of weapon, etc.

Overall, I thought the acting was pretty good (unlike the first episode of Deep Space 9). Flox and Shran were probably my two favorite characters.

I'm still not clear on Reed and the super secret guy. Is there some background I missed? Did Reed use to be a spy or something? That whole sub-plot confused me.

In the final episode, Elizabeth dies due to the error from the Terra Prime doctor. It sort of implies that Trip and Tapol will have a baby in the future, does this happen? Is it someone significant?

Any recommendations on what to watch next?
